• Marshalltown Police Department mourns loss of retired K-9 unit member, Jordy (cbs2iowa.com) — Marshalltown residents are being asked to remember Jordy, the retired Marshalltown Police K-9 who served from 2014 to 2020 and has recently died at age 12. The highly decorated German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois helped with many arrests, recovered key evidence, and earned regional honors for his obedience and narcotics detection work.
• SE Polk swats unbeaten Bobcats (timesrepublican.com) — Marshalltown’s unbeaten start in girls’ basketball ended with a 59-28 road loss to Southeast Polk, where 34 turnovers and intense full-court pressure proved costly. Coach Brian Murphy framed the defeat as a learning step against CIML physicality, and the Bobcats will try to bounce back at home Friday against Fort Dodge in Alliance North Division play.
