• Kimberly K. Bowe (kmaq.com) — A local connection to Muscatine comes through Kimberly K. Bowe’s sister, Kari Bellinger of Muscatine, who is among those mourning her loss. Kimberly, 52, of Maquoketa, died unexpectedly on December 11, with private family burial planned in the spring and condolences welcomed online.
   

• West Liberty Fire and Ambulance details Saturday multi-vehicle crashes that closed I80 (1630kcjj.com) — Muscatine County Dispatch was among many agencies coordinating the response to Saturday’s massive chain-reaction crashes that shut down both directions of I-80 for hours. Dozens of people were evaluated, up to 25 were taken to hospitals, and three required extrication as icy conditions triggered multiple collisions between Coral Ridge Mall and Plainview Road.
