• Teams and soloists bring home state dance trophies (nwestiowa.com) — Northwest Iowa dance teams brought home multiple state trophies, and Orange City is represented through Northwestern College junior Ava Schmitz, who competed with her team in the college division. From Central Lyon’s novelty championship to Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s lights win, dancers described intense training, critique sessions, and growing recognition of dance as a serious competitive sport.
