• Osceola County budget banter begins (nwestiowa.com) — In Sibley, Osceola County supervisors have started 2026-27 budget talks, hearing funding requests from victim services, senior support, and all four county libraries, including Sibley’s. Library leaders, including Sibley director Catherine Nasers, urged at least level or slightly increased support as costs and community needs rise.
   

• Akron-Westfield basketball teams fall to conference foes (nwestiowa.com) — Sibley-Ocheyedan’s boys and girls basketball teams notched home wins over Akron-Westfield in Sibley, with the Generals’ boys improving to 3-2 behind strong inside shooting. Despite competitive stretches, Akron-Westfield’s squads stayed winless after additional losses to Harris-Lake Park later in the week.
