Teachers and United Way staff say the gift comes at a tough time for many local families, supporting youth programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters and Boys and Girls Clubs that directly serve Siouxland kids.
   

4. MidAmerican Energy cancels wind farm proposal in Woodbury County (ktiv.com) — MidAmerican Energy has officially scrapped its proposed Siouxland wind farm in Woodbury County, telling supervisors it will terminate turbine easements after years of debate. County leaders praised residents’ intense engagement, while questions remain about whether landowners must return any easement payments as MidAmerican shifts to other renewable projects statewide.
   

5. Local high school basketball highlights and scores (12-16-25) (siouxlandproud.com) — Sioux City hoops fans can relive a big night, with Sioux City East rolling past CB Jefferson in both a 92–8 and an 85–72 matchup, plus close wins for Bishop Heelan. The roundup also includes scores for nearby Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota schools many Siouxland families follow.
