Alcohol-Related Arrests in Urbandale Last Week

The Urbandale arrests below are preliminary criminal charges. They do not represent convictions or court resolutions. 

Monday, May 28: Derek J. Hannam, 36, of Urbandale, was charged with first-offense drunken driving and failure to provide a safe, assured distance. Police report that Hannam's vehicle struck the back of a car that turned right off 70th Street onto Meredith Drive. When police arrived to investigate, they arrested Hannam on charges of drunken driving.

Friday, May 25: Melissa I. Davis, 22, of West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense drunken driving. The charge stems from a one-car accident on April 14, in which Davis was taken to the hospital with injuries. A male passenger also was injured but refused transportation to the hospital. Lt. Rob Johansen said the charges were filed after the police department received the results of Davis' bloodwork.

Thursday, May 24: Joel F. Davis, 35, of West Des Moines, was charged with driving while his license was revoked.
