The J-Hawks squared off with Des Moines Hoover in the substate finals.

In a nail-biter of a game, the J-Hawks (17-6) and Des Moines Hoover (18-4) were tied at the end of the second quarter and again at the end of the third quarter.
The game remained close until just over a minute left when the J-Hawks took control and pulled ahead 45 to 38.

With just over 40 seconds left Hoover scored five points bringing the score to 48-43 with 8 seconds left.
The game ended 48-43.

This will be the first trip to the State Tournament since 2009.
Urbandale play at Wells Fargo Arena on March 6.
