Bicyclist Rides Away From Collision With Car in Urbandale

A Johnston bicyclist was struck by a car turning right at an intersection in Urbandale Wednesday morning, said Police Information Officer Randy Peterson.

The 54-year-old man sustained minor injuries and refused medical transportation to the hospital. The driver, a 24-year-old woman who is not being identified until the case investigation is finished, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

The accident occurred at 100th Street and Hickman Road. The car was westbound on Hickman Road and was turning right and turned into the bicyclist, who was in the crosswalk. 

The accident occurred just before 7 a.m., said Peterson.
