Thursday: Finally! Β After 15 months, the trail bridge between Urbandale's library and Walker Johnson Park has finally been replaced. Crews set the span Wednesday and hope to have the bridge open by this weekend.Β 

Wednesday:Β Patch's weekly survey of influential local Republicans shows that while they believe Newt Gingrich has smarts and experience, they have nagging concerns about his electability. Meanwhile, protestors occupied Herman Cain's Urbandale campaign office briefly Wednesday

Tuesday: The Urbandale City Council chambers seemed a little like a war room Tuesday night as the city's top public works officer detailed a new battle plan for snow removal this winter.

Monday:Β With absentee ballots counted, Creighton Cox won a third seat on the Urbandale City Council -- still by only 3 ballots.Β
