The boys' varsity team is off to a 6-1 start this season. Winning against Ames, Des Moines East, Wuakee and Des Moines North, Dowling Catholic and Mason City, with a loss to Johnston. 

The girls' varsity team is off to a 1-7 start this season. The J-Hawks recorded a win against Des Moines North, with losses against Johnston, Waukee, Des Moines East, Ames, Mason City and Dowling Catholic and Indianola.

Here's a glimpse at this week's action:

Boys Varsity

• Tuesday, Dec. 18: J-Hawks vs. Waukee, 7:45 p.m., at Urbandale High School

Girls Varsity

• Tuesday, Dec. 18:  J-Hawks vs. Waukee, 7:45 p.m., at Urbandale High School

The J-Hawks will take a break from games for the winter break starting Dec. 21.
