Forst Takes Oath, Projects To Be Discussed at Urbandale Council Meeting

The Urbandale City Council meets at 7 p.m. tonight at city hall.

New Urbandale City Council member John Forst will take the oath of office at tonight's meeting.

Forst was chosen from a candidate pool of six on Dec. 18 to fill the seat left vacated by John Forbes, who won election to House District 40.

A council member from 1999 to 2008, plans to only fill the gap of one year before the seat is up for election.

  • The council will consider the Meredith Drive Paving Project. Approval would authorize the city to solicit bids for the project and establish a Feb. 5 public hearing.
  • Consider the Iowa Department of Transportation funding agreement for 100th Street and 54th Avenue intersection.
