Johnston v. Urbandale Football Playoff Game Named 'Game of the Year'

The game was a true nail-biter.

The game may have knocked the J-Hawks out of the playoffs for a state championship last fall, but now it's getting recognition.

The J-Hawks playoff game versus the Johnston Dragons was named the "Game of the Year" in the 2012 Central Iowa Sports Awards.

To start the second overtime, the J-Hawks scored a field goal moving the score to 55-52.

But Johnston was quick to answer with Marcus Montgomery scoring from 10 yards out to end the game.

The awards, sponsored by the Greater Des Moines Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Des Moines Area Sports Commisson, recognize the best athletes, teams and games of the year.
