Post a Photo of Your Favorite Veteran
In honor of Veterans Day, Patch is seeking photos of veterans. Post an old or new photo of your loved one, in uniform or not, as a way to recognize and thank them.
We know that many veterans do not toot their own horns, so we'll like to do it for them.
We're asking their family and friends to honor them by sharing a photo and telling us a little about them through our Urbandale Eyes and Ears page.

Here are a list of some Veterans Day events you may want to check out.
- Urbandale Police Department will be holding a Veterans Day Observance, at 8 a.m. Nov. 11 at the police department, 3740 NW 86th St. The Urbandale Police Department Honor Guard will raise the United States flag; there will be comments from commanders, a 21-gun salute and Taps will be sounded.
- Salute to Veterans Open House is is 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11 at the 663, 6805 Douglas Ave.
- Reading of proclamation honoring “The Gass Brothers” Service’ in World War II on at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11 at American Legion Post 663.
