Pre-Registration for 2013-14 Preschool Starts Tomorrow in Urbandale

The Urbandale Community School District is looking to next school year.

And with that, pre registration for the district's youngest pupils.

Registration Information:
Pre registration will start on January 15, 2013, at 9 a.m. through a link associated with the Community Education website. After parents register, they will get a confirmation e-mail stating the date and time of their registration. 

Students will be accepted based on the date and time they registered.  All students are able to register on January 15, 2013, however, students who live in the Urbandale School District will have registration priority until March 15, 2013.  After that date, district and non-districts residents will be able to fill spots based on their registration date and time.

No fees will be collected at this early registration time.

Acceptance and Enrollment Information:
Notification of acceptance will not be given to parents until Kindergarten through 5^th grade school registration is complete (after April 1, 2013). Adventuretime will then know how many classrooms will be available at each building for preschool.  After this information is received, students will be placed into classroom based on their date and time of registration, resident district status, and building/time preference.

Parents will then be notified via e-mail and phone to let them know if their student has been accepted into preschool.  At this time parents will be asked to go on to the Urbandale Schools Web Site and officially enroll in Regworks within 24 hours. If the parent does not enroll within 24 hours, we will move down to the next person on the list.  Parents will also be required to pay a $25 enrollment fee at this time.  If a student is not accepted at this time, parents will be notified and asked if they want their child to be placed on a waiting list. 

Additional Preschool Requirements:

• 3 -Year Old Preschool students must be 3 before September 15, 2013
• 4-Year Old Preschool students must be 4 before September 15, 2013
• All students must be potty-trained before the first day of school
• All parents will be responsible to bring a copy of child’s birth certificate, proof of residence, physical form, shot records, and fill out an emergency contact form after child is accepted.

Anticipated Monthly Rates:

• 3 -year old fees will be $275.00 for students attending 9:00 am – 11:30 am or 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm.
• 3- year old fees will be $600.00 for students 6:30 am – 6:00 pm.
• 4-year old fees will be $275.00 for students attending 9:00 am – 11:30 am.
• 4-year old fees will be $600.00 for students 6:30 am – 6:00 pm.

Additional Funding information:

If Statewide Voluntary Preschool dollars are available for the 2013-2014 school year, this amount will be reduced.  This decision will be made during the 2013 Iowa Legislative Sessions.  Only students who turn 4-years-old before September 15, 2013, are eligible for Statewide Voluntary Preschool dollars.  This will not apply to students who turn 5-years-old before September 15, 2013.  The Statewide Voluntary Preschool dollars only cover 10 hours/week.   For example, during the 2011-2012 school year a student who attended the half –day program attended free and a full day student paid $400.00 monthly.  Parents will be notified of the legislative decision as soon as Adventuretime is notified by the state.

Adventuretime Family Services accepts funding from DHS and Promise Jobs.  If you are denied DHS or Promise Job funding you can apply for a grant through Adventuretime Family Services.  To apply for this grant you must complete the Free/ Reduced lunch forms provided by the school district, qualify for Free/Reduced lunch, and give Adventuretime permission to view these forms so we can verify that your child qualifies.
