Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players in Pajama-Rama - Donβt miss Grammy-nominated Des Moines native Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players as they return for their 8th Annual Pajama-Rama! concert benefitting the Des Moines Symphony Academy. The event is at 10 a.m. at the Urbandale Performing Arts Center - tickets available at Hy-Vee for $10.
Winter Carnival - The Urbandale Public Pool hosts the annual winter carnival at 1 p.m. Saturday. Enjoy water slide, carnival games, food, prizes and much more during the Winter Carnival.
Paint the Town Mardi Gras Gala - The Urbandale Community Action Network hosts the annual Mardi Gras Gala at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 and proceeds benefit UCAN programs.
Singer Iris DeMent: Released βSing the Delta,β her first original album in 16 years, in November. In it, she drew on her upbringing in the Arkansas Delta.

Wine and Food Showcase: Raise a glass at the Des Moines Metro Opera Wine and Food Showcase. VIP ticket holders receive early access at 4:30 p.m.

Kenny Chesney Tickets on Sale: The country superstar will play in concert April 27 at Wells Fargo Arena. Tickets are $22-$79.50 and go on sale Friday throughwww.dahlstickets.com.
Chesneyβs tour is called βNo Shoes Nation,β and includes the Eli Young Band and Kasey Musgraves.
βGood Peopleβ: The play about a determined middle-aged woman who canβt seem to escape Bostonβs rundown South End, opens this weekend at the Civic Centerβs Stoner Theater.

The Second City: Laughing Matters: Founded in Chicago in 1959, The Second City has become the premier training ground for the comedy world's best and brightest. Their alumni list includes: Joan Rivers, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. No topic or subject matter is off limits for The Second City.

Taylor Swift: Country star Taylor Swift returns to Wells Fargo Arena on Aug. 1. No word yet on ticket prices or an on-sale date. The event is listed on Swift's website but is not listed on Ticketmaster or its partner website. In nearby Kansas City, MO tickets range from $30 to $85.
Justin Bieber: Pop star Justin Bieber will also make an appearance at the Wells Fargo Arena on July 7. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets range from $40 to $95.
