Bar Fight Victim Named, Johnston Man Charged With Murder : UPDATE
The victim suffered severe injuries after being physically assaulted and was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
URBANDALE, IA — Police said the victim in an Urbandale bar fight Wednesday night has died, leading to a charge of murder for a Johnston man who was arrested following the assault. Rodney Hendricksen, 48, had earlier faced an attempted murder charge.
Police were called to the Escape Lounge at 8843 Northpark Drive at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday in response to the assault. Officers and medics found a man suffering from severe injuries. He was transported to an area hospital, where he later died, KCCI reported this morning. The victim's name has not yet been released.
Urbandale detectives found Hendricksen at his home in Johnston on Wednesday. He was arrested on an attempted murder charge, which has now been upgraded to murder.

Hendricksen was taken to the Polk County Jail for processing. Urbandale police said the investigation is ongoing.
