Urbandale Police Win National Award for National Night Out
This year is the second year, the police department has won an award for its National NIght Out crime prevention event.

On Dec. 9, 2011, the National Association of Town Watch sent out lettersΒ advising groups that they had won a National Award.

Urbandale PoliceΒ Department was one of only two agencies within Iowa to receive such a letter. Β Urbandale Police was selected as a National Award Winner for its OutstandingΒ Participation in the 28th Annual National Night Out crime, drug and violenceΒ prevention program.
This yearβs event involved 37.1 million people in 15,325 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide.

This was Urbandale Police Departments third year hosting National Night OutΒ with well over 1,000 attending the Aug. 2, 2011 event. Β This is the second yearΒ in a row that Urbandale Police has been awarded a National Award for OutstandingΒ Participation.
