Urbandale Students Want To Turn Old Shoes Into Cash For School Needs

Give old shoes the boot and help Walnut Hills Elementary School students in Urbandale raise money for their school.

URBANDALE, IA. -- Clean out those closets and give old shoes the boot to help elementary school students earn cash by recycling. The Walnut Hills Elementary Student Council is collecting shoes through Oct. 6.

The project is in partnership with the City of Urbandale. All shoes collected will be recycled and the school will receive $1 for each pair of shoes donated.

The best part is shoes don't need to be in wearable condition: Worn out shoes, out of style shoes and even single shoes without a match will be accepted.
