After a water main broke Sunday on Patricia Drive, in between Mary Lynn Drive and Hillsdale Drive, water soaks Mary Lynn Drive and some Urbandale residents are without water.
"I went to flush the toilet and there was no water," Chris Whitefield, a resident of Patricia Drive, said. "There was no water coming out of the sink."
Doug Jacobs was called to fix the pipe, which he said likely snapped because of the hot, dry weather.
"There was a weak spot in the pipe and it just broke," Jacobs said.
Gail Palmer from the Urbandale Water Department was also helping with the water main break.
"We opened the hydrants to release the water pressure," Palmer said.
Palmer said the water will be back on in a few hours.
