Plows Continue on Urbandale Streets
Heavy snow overnight means another snow day for Urbandale students.

Crews in Urbandale continue to hit main roads this morning.
Tim Stovie, assistant public works director, told the Des Moines Register crews would continue plowing throughout the morning.

No serious issues have been reported, Stovie said.
βThings are pretty treacherous right now but itβs toward the end of the precipitation and we canβt start making progress,β Stovie told the Register.

Central Iowa recored between four and five inches of snow so far today, KCCI New Channel 8 reports.
Travel is not advised, as strong winds blow snow.
A winter storm warning for heavy and blowing snow is still in effect until noon.
For the third time this school year, there will be no school because of heavy snow in Urbandale.

The Urbandale Community School District has canceled classes Wednesday.
The latest snow storm dumped 4 to 6 inches of snow across the state, according to KCCI News Channel 8.
A winter storm warning from the National Weather Service is still in effect in the area, as is a city of Urbandale snow ordinance.
Cars must be removed from the streets, so crews can clear the roads.
According the Iowa Department of Transportation, interstate travel in the metro is very slow this morning.
DOT road crews will be working throughout the day to clear roads, but current travel conditions are not idea, WHOtv reports.Β
Temperatures Wednesday will be much cooler than Tuesday, with high in the low 20s and teens. Winds will combine with the cold temperatures to produce bitter windchills, KCCI reports.
