A bill pushed by an Urbandale Republican to ban traffic enforcement cameras failed to muster enough support as the 2013 legislative session winds down.

Brad Zaun, a state senator from Urbandale, said there's been many cases of abuse of the cameras by cities and counties. Zaun sponsored the bill to ban the cameras.
βThereβve been so many abuses by cities and counties in the State of Iowa in regard to traffic cameras,β Zaun told the Associated Press.
