1) Child Baptism Class

Parents interested in having their child baptized should stop by the Point of Grace Church today after the 10:30 service. The church is hosting a baptism class that will include information about this important milestone of Christian life. Chow’s Gymnastics is holding center court at the Jordan Creek Town Center today from 3 to 4 p.m. There will be a team demonstration with special appearances by gymnasts Shawn Johnson and Gabrielle Douglas.

3) Go for a Swim!

Bring the family to Valley View Aquatic Center tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 for Family Night.  The entire family can swim for just $10. Get your pool time in while you can. Valley View closes for the season on August 13.

4) The Weather

It’s going to be a warm one! Expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 87. Tonight, there’s a 20 percent chance of showers late with a low of 67.

5) Gas Prices

If you need to fill the gas tank today, Kum & Go stations at Ute Avenue & I-80, Fourth & Laurel Streets and University & LA Grant Pkwy all have gas for $3.53 a gallon, according to IowaStateGasPrices.com.
