Six branches of the YMCA of Greater Des Moines will be offering youth swim lessons this summer.
Registration for Y members begins at 5 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, at the six Y branches or online at www.dmymca.org. Non-member registration will begin two weeks prior to the starting date for individual sessions.
Youth swim lessons will be held at the Ankeny Family YMCA, the John R. Grubb Community YMCA, the Riverfront YMCA, South Suburban YMCA, Walnut Creek Family YMCA, and the Waukee Family YMCA. Classes at each branch include preschool (ages 3-5), school age (ages 6 and above), and waterbabies (6 months to age 3).

The cost for one-week sessions is $32.50 for Y members and $65 for non-members. The fee for three-week sessions, two times a week is $39 for Y members and $78 for non-members. The rate for the waterbabies course is $12 for Y members and $35 for non-members.
Private lessons – four, 30-minute sessions – are also available. The fee for those lessons is $60 for Y members and $120 for non-members.
