Central Iowa Remembers 9/11
Today marks the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Central Iowa will mark the anniversary with a tribute at Gray's Lake and flags flown at half staff.

The city of Des Moines will honor the lives of those lost in the terrorist attacks on 9/11 with a tribute at Gray's Lake Park today.
An installation of 3,213 flags (one for each life lost that day) will stand on the west side of Gray's Lake Tuesday through Wednesday on the trail that runs from the north dock to the south shelter.
The Des Moines Parks and Recreation department along with Clear Channel Media and the U.S. Air Force came together to create the installation being called, "The Tribute Trail."
