1) Live at the Creek
Stop by the Jordan Creek Town Center Ampitheater tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. for the Live at the Creek concert series. Tonight's featured artist is Dueling Pianos.
2) Iowa State Fair

It's Des Moines University Day at the Iowa State Fair today. Fairgoers can stop by the DMU tent to see what the Des Moines medical school offers to students. Admission to the Fair is $10 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-11 and ages 5 and under are free.
UPDATE: The Sugarland concert scheduled for tonight at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand has been canceled. Refunds will be made. Sugarland/Sara Bareilles concert ticketholders who purchased at the Fair’s box office or a Ticketmaster outlet must return with their tickets to that point of purchase for a refund. Phone and internet purchases will receive an automatic refund from Ticketmaster. Refunds will be available for 30 days or through September 14. For more information call Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.

3) Tim Pawlenty Withdraws from Race
Former Minnesota Governor and Republican presidential contender Tim Pawlenty has dropped out of the race to the White House. Pawlenty finished third at yesterday's Straw Poll held in Ames.Â
4) The Weather
Today is going to be gorgeous! Expect partly cloudy skies with a high of 83. Tonight is much of the same with a low of 64.
5) The Price of Gas
According to IowaStateGasPrices.com, gas was only $3.26 at the Kum & Go at Ute Avenue and I-80.
