Here's what's going on in Waukee today and some other stuff you might want to know.

1) Waukee vs. Ankeny Results
The Waukee High School varsity football season kicked off last night with an away game vs. Ankeny. Fifth-ranked Ankeny defeated Waukee 31-20 in the season opener. The Warriors will host Sioux City East at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Waukee Stadium.

Today is Wellmark Day at the Iowa State Fair. Check out the Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield tent on the Grand Concourse for more information on how to keep your family healthy and active. Admission is $10 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-11, and children 5 and under are free.
3) "Marvel"ous Cookie Decorating Event

Williams Sonoma at the Jordan Creek Town Center is hosting a cookie decorating event at their store today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Customers are invited decorate cookies from their new Marvel Comic Book Heroes bakeware collection featuring Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Hulk and Captain America. The cost is $5 for two sugar cookies to decorate and an exclusive Marvel Comic Book.
4) The Weather
Grab your umbrella. Today, we will see scattered showers and thunderstorms. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a high near 78. Tonight, much of the same with a low near 67.
5) Gas Prices
According to IowaStateGasPrices.com, the price of gas remains steady at $3.47 at the Kum & Go stations at Ute Avenue and I-80, and University and L.A. Grant Parkway, as well as the Casey's at Highway 6 and Warrior Lane and University and Boone Drive.
