Five Things Waukee Residents Should Know: August 22

Here's what's going on in Waukee today and some other stuff you might want to know.

1) Yard Waste Pick Up Day

Today is yard waste pick up. Make sure that all yard waste is placed on the curb in clearly marked containers or yard waste bags, and that sticks, twigs and tree limbs are bundled and are no longer than four feet. If your yard waste is missed today, the City asks that you contact the Utility Office at 978-5502.

2) Waukee City Council Meeting Tonight

The Waukee City Council will meet tonight for its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 in the Waukee City Hall Chambers. If you miss this one, the next meeting will be held on Monday, September 12.

3) Waukee High School Golf Meet

The Waukee High School boys varsity and junior varsity golf teams will play today at 1 p.m. at Beaver Creek Golf Course, 11200 NW Towner Drive in Grimes.

4) The Weather

Today will be partly cloudy with a high near 82. Tonight, much of the same with a low of 64.

5) Gas Prices

According to IowaStateGasPrices.com, the price of gas remains steady at $3.47 at the Kum & Go stations at Ute Avenue and I-80, and Fourth and Laurel Streets, as well as the Casey's at Highway 6 and Warrior Lane.
