If you're into running, biking and swimming, look no further than West Des Moines. The Hy-Vee IronKids Triathlon will take place today at West Des Moines City /School Campus, 4200 Mills Civic Pkwy. The IronKids begin at 8:00 a.m.

3) Waukee Girls Varsity Cross Country Invitational

The Waukee girls varsity cross country invitational will be held in Pella today beginning at 9:00 a.m. on the Central College campus, 812 University St.

4) "Restoring America" Event

The Tea Party of America is hosting its "Restoring America" event today beginning at 11 a.m. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is delivering the keynote speech at 1 p.m. The event is free for all ages and will be held at the National Balloon Classic Field in Indianola.

5) The Weather

Showers and thunderstorms are likely today. Otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Tonight, there's a 20 percent chance of showers before 1 a.m. with a low around 57.
