Get Your Walk on Tomorrow in Waukee
A statewide initiative hopes you'll find a few minutes in your day to get out and walk a bit tomorrow, Wednesday, at noon.
If you're not too busy, tied down or otherwise occupied tomorrow at 12 p.m., organizers of Iowa's Healthiest State Initiative hope you'll carve out a few minutes to take a one kilometer walk.
Iowa’s Healthiest State initiative was meant to educate people about health awareness and how they can live healthier lifestyles just by doing something as simple as walking.
The idea grew from some startling statistics. According to a Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, Iowa stands at No. 16 in the country when it comes to healthy states. State leaders want to change that.
