Hy-Vee Gas Station and Caribou Coffee to Open Tuesday in Waukee
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held to celebrate the opening of the new Hy-Vee gas station near the intersection of Alice's and Hickman Roads.

It's here! It's finally here! The new Hy-Vee gas station and convenience store will open for business tomorrow in Waukee.
Construction on the store at 1025 E. Hickman Rd. started this spring and will be operational beginning Tuesday.
Once open, the 4,350 square-foot store will include a Caribou Coffee complete with drive thru. The gas station and convenience store is part of what will soon be a one-stop shopping area complete with a full-service grocery store and a car wash.

Hy-Vee filed a building permit with the city of Waukee to construct the convenience store in April. The Waukee City Council approved the original site plan for the grocery store, convenience store and car wash in February of 2011. In February of 2012, the Council voted to extend Hy-Vee’s site plan for one year after Hy-Vee had yet to file a permit to begin building on the site.
Finally, in May of this year, Hy-Vee filed a building permit for the grocery store with plans to open in the spring of 2013.
