Iowa GOP Chairman Calls for Special Nominating Convention in Senate District 22
Republican Party of Iowa Chairman A.J. Spiker issued a call to hold a special nominating convention to name a candidate to replace Pat Ward in the race for Iowa Senate District 22.
Republican Party of Iowa Chairman A.J. Spiker today issued the call for a special nominating convention for Senate District 22 on Nov. 8.
Attendees of the convention will nominate a Republican candidate to replace Sen. Pat Ward in the race for Iowa Senate District 22. Ward passed away on Oct. 15 from a lengthy battle with breast cancer.
Ward's opponent, Democrat Desmund Adams, will face the chosen candidate in a special election to be held on Dec. 11.

The special nominating convention will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Republican Party of Iowa Headquarters at 621 E. Ninth St., Des Moines.
The convention will be called to order by Republican Party of Iowa Legal Council Bill Talbot and Republican Party of Iowa State Central Committee Member Wes Enos will serve as Secretary. Polk and Dallas County Central Committee members who represent precincts in Senate District 22 are eligible to be voting delegates at the convention.

Delegates to the special nominating convention will receive the Chairman’s call via U.S. mail.
