It's Beggars' Night Tuesday in Waukee
Grab the little ghouls and goblins and head out for some good ole trick-or-treating Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m. in Waukee.

Grab your spookiest, silliest, even weirdest Halloween costume and get ready for Beggars' Night 2012 in Waukee.
Beware - ghosts, goblins, princesses and cowboys alike will be going door-to-door begging for candy tonight from 6-8 p.m. and they're going to be hungry.
A few tips on how you can stay safe this Beggars' Night from the Waukee Police Department:
- Walk, slither, and sneak on the sidewalks, not in the street.
- Before crossing the street, look both ways for cars, trucks, and low flying brooms.
- Cross the street only at corners.
- Do not hide behind or cross the street between parked cars.
- Put reflective tape on bikes, skateboards, brooms, and clothing so you are more visible to motorists.
- Plan your route and share it with your family.
- Carry a flashlight to light your way.
- Keep away from open fires and candles. (Costumes can be extremely flammable).
- Visit homes that have the porch light on.
- Accept your treats at the door and never go into a stranger's house.
- Use face paint rather than masks or things that will cover your eyes.
- Be cautious of animals and strangers.
- Have a grown-up inspect your treats before eating and do not eat candy if the package is already open. Small, hard pieces of candy can be a choking hazard for young children.
