Parents Talk: Children and the Flu Vaccine
Will you be getting your child the flu vaccine this year?
It's officially fall which means it's time to start thinking about getting the flu shot.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 85 million doses of flu vaccine have already been distributed, all part of the 135 million doses they'll distribute this year, and yet, a majority of people will choose to skip the vaccine and take their chances in getting the disease.
A story on USAToday.com reported that only forty-two percent of Americans got a flu shot last year, about the same rate as the year before, according to the CDC. The CDC recommends the flu vaccine for children over the age of six months.
