PHOTOS: A Wet Waukee Fest
Rain didn't dampen the spirits of many Waukee residents still willing to brave the rain to partake in the Waukee Fest celebration downtown.
Rain fell steadily Saturday over this year's Waukee Fest celebration on the downtown Triangle, but not everyone was deterred by the wet conditions.
Several families attended the Waukee Rotary breakfast in the community tent as vendors began lining the streets at 7 a.m.
At 10 a.m., the Waukee Fest parade still wound its way through the city streets though some chose to watch from inside their homes or outside under the protection of umbrellas.

While many vendors packed up by mid-afternoon, the American Legion Steak Fry still went on as planned with music provided by Throwing Toast.
