PHOTOS: Waukee Chamber's Cow Patty Bingo

The Waukee Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2nd Annual Cow Patty Bingo event Thusrday night in Waukee.

They say a watched pot never boils. Well, I'm here to tell 'ya that a watched cow doesn't poop.

Just ask all the people who came out for the 's Cow Patty Bingo Event Thursday night. They know. They waited almost four and half hours for the main attraction, a cow named Josie, to drop her patty on the Chamber's Bingo grid.

All poop jokes aside, Cow Patty Bingo puts a cow in a large pen where squares are mapped out Bingo-style on the ground. Squares were purchased by businesses and individuals in Waukee and if the cow dropped her patty in your square, you'd win a full page ad in the Waukee Chamber Directory and Community Guide along with a sweet-lookin' trophy.

Dozens of Waukee Chamber members gathered at for the event Thursday night and after more than four hours, as the sun was about to set, Josie finally did her business in the State Savings Banks' square.

As a bonus, Chamber members could guess the weight of Josie's calf, Snowball, who accompanied her mom on the trip. came the closest guessing 305 pounds (she weighs 306 pounds).

Josie and Snowball came from the Brewer Family Farm in Dallas Center. This was the second year the Chamber hosted Cow Patty Bingo. Last year's celebrity cow, Gertrude, couldn't make it. She's with calf.
