Pizza Hut to Open in Waukee

Whether you're a fan of their hand-tossed crust, spicy chicken wings or even their pastas, you're going to want to sit down for this - Waukee is getting a Pizza Hut.

That's right, on Sept. 4, Pizza Hut will open for business at 274 W. Hickman Rd. in the Liberty Park Mall next to Plaza Cleaners.

According to Didi Somers, general manager for Pizza Hut, the new location will have both delivery and carryout and will feature all your favorite menu items and a few new ones, too.

"This store will have pretty much the same menu as all the others in the area," she said. "The difference is that this one will be a WingStreet store so there will be a bigger wings menu and some other options like cheese sticks, apple pies, potato wedges and that sort of thing."

Somers said once the store is open, it will be staffed by 25-30 people, most part-time employees. They're currently hiring all positions, Somers said. To apply, go to http://jobs.pizzahut.com/.

For now, until the store opens, Somers said Waukee residents will still be served by the West Des Moines location at 5901 Ashworth Road.
