Police Blotter Rewind: Burglary, Credit Card Fraud, Theft and More

Missed something from last week's police blotter? Here are the reports again from the week ending Oct. 28.

Burglary

On Oct. 22 around 8:40 a.m., a Waukee woman reported a home burglary in the 1600 block of Southeast Holiday Crest Circle.

A metal cabinet valued at $20 was taken from the apartment. There was no forced entry or damage to the residence.

The report states that a family member may have been responsible.

Accidents and OWI

Oct. 22

A vehicle driven by Erica Clark of West Des Moines struck a deer near an intersection on Southeast LA Grant Parkway. Vehicle damage was estimated at $2,000.

Oct. 23

A vehicle driven by Joyce Spencer of Waukee was struck by a vehicle driven by Linda Corbett of West Des Moines. Vehicle damage was estimated at $1,500.

Michael Parde, 39, of Waukee was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated (first offense).

Oct. 24

A vehicle driven by Enas Said of Waukee was struck by a vehicle driven by John Ballou of West Des Moines. Vehicle damage was estimated at $2,700.

Credit Card Fraud

On Oct. 23, a Waukee woman reported credit card fraud in the 2100 block of Sugar Creek Drive.

According to the police report, the woman's credit card had been used without her authorization on the Internet. The woman's credit card company took care of the charges after the incident was reported.

Criminal Mischief

On Oct. 24, a Waukee man reported that a soda machine in the 1300 block of Southeast Jonas Circle was the target of criminal mischief.

Someone allegedly broke into the machine at the Jonas Circle Townhomes and took an unknown amount of change.

The soda machine sustained damage estimated at $150.

Theft from a Vehicle

On Sunday afternoon, Oct. 28, a Waukee man reported a theft from a motor vehicle. A window on a van parked at a residence in the 300 block of Christopher Drive had been broken and items were taken from the vehicle.

The vehicle sustained approximately $200 damage. Copper valued at $1,100 was taken from the vehicle.

No arrests have been made in the incident.

Domestic Assault

At 5 a.m. on Oct. 28, Waukee police were called to a home in the 800 block of Southeast Finch Circle. 

There officers found Arin Wilson, 19, allegedly intoxicated. Wilson had allegedly struck her stepfather during an argument because she was angry. No one sustained injuries in the altercation.

Wilson was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was taken to Dallas County Jail.
