Police: Debilitated Driver Plows Into Medicap Pharmacy

A medical emergency is to blame for an accident that damaged the Medicap Pharmacy in Waukee last week.

On Sept. 17 around 8:40 a.m., Jake Lewis of Grimes was traveling northbound in the 10 block of Warrior Lane. Lewis had just received two shots and suddenly became ill as he was pulling into the parking lot of the Casey's General Store at the corner of Warrior Lane and Hickman Road. 

Instead of going straight, Lewis allegedly lost control of his vehicle and drove into the Medicap Pharmacy at 10 Warrior Lane. He was treated at the scene. No additional medical information was reported.

Vehicle damage was reported at $900. The Medicap Pharmacy building sustained approximately $2,000 in damages. No additional charges were filed in the accident.
