Police: Goodwill Employee Not So Full of Goodwill

A Des Moines man was caught stealing from the Goodwill store in Waukee last week.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story referred to Christopher Lee as a shopper. He was a temporary employee of the store.

It looks like a temporary Goodwill employee wasn't so full of goodwill last week.

A report from the Waukee police department says Christopher Lee of Des Moines was working at the Goodwill Industries store in Waukee on Sept. 28 when he spotted something he wanted that wasn't for sale.

Lee, 21, allegedly took an Apple iPod from an employee's purse in the Goodwill break room and left the store.

He was apprehended in the parking lot in the 50 block of Laurel Street and charged with fourth degree theft. The item was returned to the employee and Lee was released.
