'Save the Trails!' Charity Bike Ride Raises More Than $5,000 for Raccoon River Valley Trail
A charity bike ride hosted by a Waukee pub raised more than $5,000 to pave a Dallas County bike trail.

A charity bike ride held Sunday in Waukee raised more than $5,000 for the Raccoon River Valley Trail.
Mickey's Irish Pub and co-sponsors BikeIowa.com, New Belgium Brewing and The Longest Yard Bar & Grill in Dallas Center raised $5,283 to benefit the Racoon River Valley Trail in Dallas County.
The gravel road crossings along the 56 mile-long trail that winds along the Raccoon River through Greene, Guthrie and Dallas counties, are difficult on riders biking the trail. Several groups, companies and individuals have already committed to pave six of the 13 crossings at $2,400 each. The money raised Sunday is enough to pave two additional crossings.
