Schade Creek Vineyard & Winery Takes Home Honors in Wine Competition
The Schade Creek Vineyard & Winery competed in the 6th annual Mid-American Wine Competition held in Ankeny, July 13-15.
The took home top honors in the 6th annual Mid-American Wine Competition, July 13-15.
The Waukee winery received two gold, one silver and three bronze medals in the 6th annual Mid-American Wine Competition held at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in Ankeny. Schade Creek competed against 100 other Midwest wineries that entered more than 600 wines in the competition.
The winery was awarded medals for its Harlan Henry, Creme de la Creme Blanc, Wine O'Clock Somewhere, Ghetto Fab and Soul Mates varieties.

“It’s competitions like this that give us the drive to make better wine with grapes grown here in the Midwest," said Kurt Schade, owner and winemaker at Schade Creek. "We are very pleased.”
Bob Foster, director of the Mid-American Wine Competition said Schade Creek makes a wine the people of central Iowa can be proud of.

“These wines are top notch,” said Foster. “Consumers ought to track them down and enjoy them.”
Schade Creek Vineyard & Winery wines can be found at , the Heart of Iowa Marketplace in Valley Junction, and soon-to-be in local Hy-Vee Stores.
