Sense of Summer Fills Triangle at Waukee Farmers' Market
From barbecue to lawn art to organic dog treats - the Waukee Farmers' Market offers a little something for everyone.
Light rock music was playing, kettle corn was popping and the aroma of smoked meat wafted from the corner of Sixth and Ashworth at the Waukee Farmers’ Market June 19.
Vendors from Waukee and the surrounding area sold a variety of items from organic dog treats and cupcakes to shirts and cleaning products.
Becky Honer and Lynne Rockers offer a place to dine while shopping, Backyard BBQ. They have been barbecuing for 13 years.

“We are happy to have all the community support,” Honer said.
Linda Aldrich comes from Van Meter to sell Unique popcorn shirts and accessories.

“I have been selling here for seven years, it’s a great little market,” Aldrich said. “Last week a couple came from Ames and I asked them, ‘Don’t they have markets in Ames?’ and they said, 'Not like this one'.”
The farmers’ market is held every Wednesday, until Sept. 25, from 4-7 p.m. in the downtown Triangle park.
