Sugar Creek Golf Pro Chad Proehl Edged Out in PGA Championship

Pro Chad Proehl tied for 20th place in the PGA Professional Championship in Seaside, Calif., Wednesday, but was edged out in a playoff for a spot in an August PGA Championship.

According to an article in the Des Moines Register online, Proehl was part of an eight-man playoff to capture the final spot in the August tournament. After starting the round tied for sixth place, Proehl lost to golfer Michael Frye on the third extra hole.

Proehl shot a 76 in the final round and a 291 total.
