UPDATE: Waukee Appoints Interim Library Director After Firing
Children's Librarian Keri Weston-Stoll has been appointed interim director of the Waukee Public Library after the firing of Erik Surber on Monday.

The Waukee Library Board of Trustees has appointed the children's librarian as the interim director after the library director was fired this week.
The Des Moines Register reports the board voted 6-0 during a special meeting on Wednesday to appoint Keri Weston-Stoll as interim director to replace .
Weston-Stoll is new to the Waukee library, after starting in March. She previously served as library director in Carlisle. Shortly after she was hired, she said her goal is simple: get children, young people and their parents interested in reading, and learning in general.

Library board members will discuss the search process for a director at their next meeting, Hughes said, which is at 6:30 p.m. April 9.
Surber, an Ames native, began as the library director in September 2011 at an annual salary of $80,000, according to Hughes.
Surber previously served as the senior librarian of the North Hollywood Regional Library in Hollywood, CA, the Des Moines Register said.
The Register reports that Weston-Stoll earns around $35,000 per year as the children’s librarian, and the library board recommends a $1,500 per-month pay increase while acting as library director.
