Waukee Area Arts Council Awarded Bravo Greater Des Moines Grant

The Waukee Area Arts Council just announced it was awarded a grant from the regional arts council, Bravo Greater Des Moines.

The l today announced it is the recipient of a $3,500 grant from Bravo Greater Des Moines for the 2012-2013 fiscal year.

The money will be used to help underwrite some of the administrative needs of the Waukee arts organization, said Karen Dluhos, board president of the Waukee Area Arts Council.

“We are pleased to be the recipient of a Bravo grant,” said Dluhos. “The additional funding will help us keep the Arts Council growing in the right direction.”

Bravo Greater Des Moines is a regional non-profit organization committed to "strengthening the metro area's arts and cultural community as a key element of a world-class quality of life. Bravo provides a collaborative focus to nurture and grow the arts by increasing funding through public and private sources."

The group helps secure funding for area arts and cultural organizations like the Waukee Area Arts Council. In 2012, more than $2.2 million was awarded to 51 different organizations.
