Waukee City Council to Choose Search Firm in Special Session Today

The Waukee City Council will interview two search firms as they move toward hiring Waukee's new city administrator. The Council will meet at 3 p.m. today at Waukee City Hall.

The Waukee City Council will hold a special meeting today at 3 p.m. at to interview two potential search firms that could help find Waukee's next city administrator.

At its meeting Aug. 6, the city's personnel committee reviewed proposals from five different search firms including one in central Iowa. The committee narrowed the choices down to two - The Mercer Group and Slavin Management Consultants, both from Atlanta.

The estimated cost of hiring a search firm, based on the submitted proposals, ranges from $10,000 to $19,400. Both Mercer and Slavin Management submitted proposals totaling approximately $13,000 for their services.

, Waukee's former city administrator, resigned his position in May. Brad Deets was named interim city administrator at that time.
