Waukee Educators Attend Rick Wormeli Seminar Today
Today is a Teacher Work Day in Waukee. Educators throughout the district will attend a day-long seminar by Rick Wormeli beginning at 8 a.m.

The Waukee Community School District is hosting a seminar with Rick Wormeli today at Waukee High School from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
More than 370 district educators and 90 educators from other school districts are registered to attend the event.
Wormeli is a nationally recognized speaker who has spoken in 49 different states, many different countries and at The White House. Wormeli has more than 23 years of teaching experience in many different subject areas and grade levels. He is a National Board Certified teacher and has been recognized as the 1996 Disney American Teacher Awards: Outstanding English Teacher of the Nation. Mr. Wormeli is an avid writer of both books and articles on the topic of Differentiation and other educational ideas.

Wormeli will speak about differentiation, practical applications to all grade levels and content areas through motivational stories and real-world examples from 8-11 a.m.
Wormeli will speak about the principles of standards-based assessment and reporting, its implications on student learning and motivation in the classroom, and ideas for implementation from 12:30-3:30 p.m.
