Waukee Food Pantry Conducts Thanksgiving Food Drive; Mickey's Irish Pub Pitches In
November is a month of need at the Waukee Area Christian Food Pantry.
There's no greater need for assistance at the Waukee Area Christian Food Pantry than during the holidays.
That's why volunteers are busy preparing for the Food Pantry's annual "Share Your Feast Food Drive." In November, the Food Pantry gives families special Thanksgiving Feast food boxes complete with all the trimmings of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Items needed include: boxed stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, relishes, ingredients for green bean casserole and pumpkin pie, saltine crackers, corn muffin mix, fruit and Jell-o.
Cash donations will be used to provide families a turkey or ham and grocery store gift card to purchase the perishable items to complete their meal.

Mickey's Irish Pub Helps Out
Mickey's Irish Pub is helping stock the shelves of the Waukee Area Food Pantry
During the month of November, for every food or non-perishable item or for every $5 donated in the month of November, Mickey's Irish Pub will give patrons a Mickey’s Buck good toward a food purchase. Customers can use the fun money, up to $3 at a time.
All food items will be donated to the Waukee Area Food Pantry at the end of November.
Also, this Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Mickey's Irish Pub, there will be a free Thanksgiving buffet for those who don’t have the money to spend on a full spread or who just want to be around some fun company on the holiday.
The event is free and open to the public. Goodwill donations will be accepted.
