Waukee Homecoming Week Schedule, Sept. 17-22
There's little more exciting than homecoming. The parade, activities, a coronation, the big game - it's all coming up next week in Waukee.
Could there be anything more exciting than Homecoming week in Waukee? (Ok, Prom is a close second, but let's just put that aside for a moment.)
Whether you're a parent, a teacher, a fan or a Warrior yourself, next week is going to be the best time for you to don the purple and gold and get into the spirit of Homecoming 2012.
There are a more than a few ways to show your Waukee pride this week. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect.

Dress Up
teachers and students alike are encouraged to dress up to show their school spirit this week. The schedule is as follows (feel free to play along at home or work):

Monday (9/17): "Timewarp Day" - Dress in past or present or future attire.
Tuesday (9/18): "-Er" Day - Dress as your favorite person/thing that ends in -er.
Wednesday (9/19): "Imaginary Character Day"
Thursday (9/20): "Go Together Day" - Dress as people or items that go together (Bill and Hillary, peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese, Brad and Angelina.)
Friday (9/21): "Spirit Day"
Community Picnic
A community picnic will be held Tuesday at from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be enough food for a limited number of people so come early. Free will donations will be accepted, but are not required. This event is open to the public.
Parade, Pep Rally and Coronation
The Waukee homecoming parade, pep rally and coronation will be held Thursday beginning at 6 p.m.
The parade begins at the old Waukee Elementary School, 400 Locust St., at 6 p.m. The parade route will follow the traditional Waukee route. All members of the Waukee community are encouraged to participate and are encouraged to be lined up by 5 p.m.

The Big Game
The Waukee Warriors will meet Des Moines Roosevelt Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Waukee Stadium.
The Homecoming Dance
The Homecoming dance will be held in the west gym Saturday night from 8 to 11 p.m. Cost is $10 per person and all attendees must be Waukee High School students in grades 10-12 or be guests of a student. No one under grade 10 will be admitted.
