Waukee School Board to Discuss Downtown School and Head Lice Monday Night

The Waukee school board will have a lot on its plate tonight at its regular scheduled meeting.

On the agenda is approval of the schematic design of the . The school is slated to undergo a renovation that will help alleviate crowding at both and E schools. If approved, construction could begin this winter.

Also tonight, the Waukee board will be presented with a petition from parents in the district who want to see the policy on head lice notification changed. As of Sunday night, the petition had more than 200 signatures.

Several parents also plan to be in attendance at the meeting. It is open to the public and attendees will be allowed to speak to board members during an open forum portion of the meeting.

The Waukee Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. tonight (Monday) in the Waukee Schools District office board room at 560 S.E. University Ave.
